Gravity Rollers
Here at Midland Handling Equipment, we provide a variety of different Gravity Rollers from stainless steel to plastic rollers. Gravity Roller Conveyors activate with the movement of products and boxes that are on the conveyor, without the need for motor power sources. If the conveyor is on a decline, products will automatically slide on the rollers. However, if it was a flat conveyor system, there would have to be manual input to move the product along.
Gravity Roller Conveyors
With these rollers the heavier a product is, the harder it is to move on the conveyor, and heavier products are more likely to cause to damage to the rollers. On the other hand, if the products are too light they won’t be able to move on the conveyor. The variety of rollers we supply varies from small to heavy-duty. Most systems are adaptable to an extent, which means cost-efficient systems for you and your business. We provide solutions for many different businesses up and down the UK. A Free-Running Roller is an efficient and low-cost way of reducing manual handling and speeding up production of goods, point to point. These systems are unrivalled as they do not rely on power. When Is A Gravity Conveyor Used?
A gravity conveyor moves when there is a load on top usually down declines or through manual pushing. Gravity Conveyors will transport products from A to B. An example of their use can be found in airports where you put your hand luggage in a box along with electricals and jewellery, this box is then carried on Gravity Rollers, with little manual input, to go through a scanning process. You will often find that after the scan there is a decline to speed to process up at the end to get you your personal belongings back as soon as possible.
Stainless Steel & Plastic Rollers
Stainless steel rollers suit a wide range of different applications from lightweight objects to heavier products including food produce as they are easy to wash and sterilise frequently. We offer a broad variety of roller sizes and options. Having a stainless steel conveyor is less maintenance than a plastic conveyor as they are much sturdier and durable even with heavier products. They have a long lifespan and will need little maintenance. Plastic rollers are also a cheaper option when it comes to conveyors. These are used to transport dry and solid items that have a low centre of gravity, a flat base and nothing that can get stuck in-between rollers. The product can’t be highly fragile as they will experience a small amount of vibration going through the rollers.
Why Should I Use Roller Conveyors?
Gravity rollers are a great upgrade for an establishment that wants to improve efficiency without impacting their overhead. They are not motorized and have a very straightforward method of use. They will not add to your power bills and you don’t need to have the staff trained on how to use them. While they are not motorised, they do a very good job of getting loads and products from one part to the next with ease and minimal effort. They come in different shapes and sizes and are made from different materials to suit different applications. It is also possible to have bespoke designs of Gravity Conveyors made to fit the specific needs of the business. The rollers are simple to install and work on the simple basis of gravity from an inclination or a simple shove of the load on the rollers. The rollers are simple to maintain and replacement parts are readily available from our warehouse with very little mechanical know-how required to make most of the changes in parts. While the system is simple to maintain and affordable compared to other types of motorised parts, they are efficient and effective in their work.
To ensure quality and reliability all parts of the conveyors are produced and assembled by us to guarantee quality in our products. Buyers will also be able to enjoy our high standards of customer service along with our dedication to the production of quality handling materials and reliable solutions to every business. We are dedicated to offering customised handling solutions at an affordable price.
