Conveyor belts can come in various materials and the material generally dictates the construction. Rubber, PVC belts for example are often driven by motorized drum with as skid-bed centre body.
Mesh / Modular Belts
Modular, wire mesh or honeycomb belts generally have a driven shaft with sprockets or pulleys integrated that engage into the modular pitches of the belt (or chain). Mild steel or stainless steels belts are excellent for high temperatures whilst plastics etc. are flexible options for sterile environments.
